A couple of days ago, Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi revealed it sold over 25 million units of the Note 8 globally, and to celebrate the milestone, the Chinese phone maker announced it will soon launch the Redmi Note 8 2021. While Redmi hasn’t revealed the Note 8 2021’s unveiling date yet, it took to Twitter to tease the smartphone’s design.
The poster shared by Redmi reveals the Note 8 2021 will pack a waterdrop notch display, just like the original Note 8. It also confirms that Note 8 2021 will arrive in blue color, but there will likely be more options available.
Additionally, the image tells us that the Note 8 2021 has the SIM card slot on its left-side frame. We don’t see the power key and volume rocker here because those are placed on the opposite side.
You can also see that the Note 8 2021’s chin has the Redmi branding. However, the poster doesn’t show us the rear side of the smartphone, and it remains to be seen if its back cover’s design will be similar to the original Note 8’s or if Redmi has opted for a different look.
Redmi hasn’t divulged any specifications of the Note 8 2021 yet, but previous reports claim the smartphone will come with a Helio G85 SoC, MIUI 12.5, 4,000 mAh battery with 22.5W charging, and two memory options – 4GB/64GB and 4GB/128GB.
The Note 8 2021 will sport a quad camera setup on the back with the primary shooter using a 48MP sensor. It will be joined by ultrawide, macro, and depth units whose resolutions remain unknown.
We’ll have more clarity about the Note 8 2021 as Redmi drops more teasers to build hype around it.
